I saw Realitie for the first time a couple of days ago at The Bussey Building in Peckham at a Spoken Word Evening and she literally blew my head off with her words. I couldn't help thinking how different I'd be if I heard her words when I was a lost little schoolgirl but for any age, any gender, any ethinicity - Realitie speaks for us all. Incredibly Powerful. Thank You. |

I recently saw Realitie perform as Nettleold Hall and was completely rooted to my seat with the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. Such an imposing character walked to the stage but when she delivered, it was powerful. I will definetly follow her career and hope that it spirals ever upwards and will ensure that my other daughter gets to experience her too. The content was so profound, touching and REAL. |

A comment on Realite's poetry performance in Cambridge for International Women's Day 2011: This was the first time I'd heard live poetry. I was struck by the power of the performance, moved by the words I heard and inspired to see someone making a difference in this way. |

Josephine reaches out and talks about the unspeakable, challenges taboos and reaches people in a way they may never have had experience of before.
Very talented, the spoken word is delivered in a very powerful way.
I watched as young people gave a standing ovation. They really got the message and responded to what they were hearing, showing that the message is relevent, real and accepted by those who hear it.

We would like to thank you very much for performing at the Brixton Reel Film Festival event at Fanon Resource Centre and St Martins Community Centre. People really enjoyed and engaged with your poetry and the feedback we received after both events was very positive. |

Beautiful, real, touching, gracious, inspiring, amazing and so much more!
Josephine is an exceptional performer. She speaks from her heart and aims to empower. I met Josephine when I was an insecure performer and she certainly succeeded in empowering me! Josephine isn't afraid to touch on taboos that others are too embaressed to discuss. Her words make me quiver, her poetry is heartrending and she is an admirable pillar in the community. She is a voice that needs to be heard by all!!
I am honoured to know this phenomenal woman!
Much love, respect and many, many thanks! |

Realitie was a wow last night at the Happy Soul Festival in Wandsworth. She rolls out her words like a prophet (FEMALE!), she tells us stories that move our spirits, bring smiles to our faces and tears to our eyes. She is the real thing - a PERFORMANCE POET - her voice was dancing, her poetry was singing, my ears were ringing: she lead us out of the desert into our dream that's real life. Long may she spring her way into our hearts.
All the best |

Jo, as you know I have had the great pleasure in having you PA at most of my events for the past three years and each and every time you have performed you have blown the place away with your talent. It remains to be said that your one of the most humble yet talented people i know, never making a fuss about getting paid, technical issues etc and i love you for that. Here's to us working together more in the future- but you know your a regular on my PA list at all my shows anyway so your not going no where!!! LOL
Love the site, your work and love you too, keep it up,
Lee x

Having seen you yesterday at Getfamilyar! I was totally inspired by your performance as it comes from the heart = truth and nothing is more hard-hitting and powerful than that! Us young ones need the elders to teach us continually in the way you do to keep us on the right path. Peace and look forward to seeing another performance by you! |

I have seen u at different events over the years and have to say that each and every time, I come away with somthing positive and brand new. You are so blessed with the pieces that you create and I just want to say, please continue to inspire young people because there is so much truth in the subjects in which you touch upon. I dont believe that enough is being done in our community to enpower young people. Your work shows reality from.a another prospective. God Bless. Thank you so much. |

Sister Josephine, You are, indeed, a griot or jali of the highest order, in addition to being a mother, blessed with a gift for social commentary and social empowerment, especially of our young people.
A griot (pronounced with the t, silent) or a jali is a traditional Afrikan poet, a sage and counsellor, a social commentator, a travelling musician, and praise singer, who is a repository of the history and culture of their people.
I am very impressed by your energy and commitment to the positive development of our young people, evidenced by the workshops you offer on this website. I am forever impressed by the evening of poetry expression which you held at the Unity Centre some time ago with the total involvement of the youth – which included them expressing their skills and abilities in the production of your book of poems.
Stay Blessed, Sistah! Ras Kwende Kwemara Publications

Met you on Friday night at Triforce Promotions night. Me and my wife thought your poetry was sublime; in yer face, hard hitting lyrics yet touching and beautiful at the same time. We were both very moved by your work and my wife loves the book we bought from you after. Thanks for an amazing performance.
Good luck on your continued journey along the path... |
